Italy is full of churches, convents, monasteries and abbeys... And usually they are located in the fabulous places, surrounded by the Nature! For who desirers get married in a church there are many options: big or small, old or new, in the centre of city or in the countryside, for the religious or civil ceremony. For example Rome there is a wonderful deconsecrated church at Caracalla where the Town Hall of Rome celebrates the civil wedding. Today I would write about two wonderful wedding locations, two old Abbeys surrounded by the Nature, two wedding venues where is possible to celebrate the ceremony and the reception.

Abbazia of San Pietro in Valle

Giulia & Fabrizio, and the beauty of Umbria

The Abbey of San Pietro in Valle is a magical place surrounded by greenery and overlooking the Valnerina which allows you to gaze without boundaries. The beauty of this venue is that it allows the newlyweds and guests to say in the abbey for as many days as they want, and you are able to organise the ceremony and the reception in the same place. This avoids having to change locations, having to go back in a car…in short, they made their guests very comfortable, and offered to all of their closest guests, including me, a friend of the bride since we were at school together.
The very old church hosts the religious ceremony while the court and the garden are perfect for the welcome cocktail and appetizer and the reception. At the Abbey can sleep around 50 guests while for the others there are many near accommodations. This venue is really suggestive, you can savor history by looking at it… it's simply perfect.

Abbazia of Sant'Andrea in Flumine

Giorgia & Josè at the Abbey outside Rome

Simply unique and very near to Rome, at only 40 minutes, this abbey opens the doors of its ancient church to the couple that desires to do a religious ceremony or a legal civil ceremony in its archaeological site. In base at the number of guests we can set up the reception in different place. With max 100 guests we can plan all in the garden otherwise there are the indoor halls. Located in the Valle del Tevere, the Roman countryside across by the river Tevere, the venue is surrounded by the Nature. Easy to reach with the car and pullman (highway), it's at only one hour from the airport!
The Abbey of Sant'Andrea in Flumine is the perfect frame for the country or shabby chic or bohemian wedding. We can set up a shabby corner with vintage sofa and armchairs, a trunk and old luggage will be perfect for the wedding cards and tableau. Empty frame could be hang on the branches of the trees and used like centrepieces. My friend blogger Eugenia Ferretti, will help us with the rent of all shabby chic furniture created by her. This venue has convenient wedding packages with 3 catering, avoiding in this way to pay the rent!!!

Abbazia of San Faustino

Destination wedding in Umbria for Laura & Patrick

Far from all, surrounded by the forest, this unique wedding location is for the lover of the Nature. With a breathless view on the Umbrian hills, a pool for your relax and old villages on the neighbourhood. This is a perfect location for your wedding destination.
In this venue we can plan the legal civil ceremony, the reception and the accommodation. We and your guests can book your wedding/holidays in this old abbey for how many days you desire; indeed can sleep within 52 guests, because many rooms have also extra beds. The chef will care not only the wedding reception but also all meals of you journey. The Major in the old church will celebrate the ceremony… and the old bells play when you become wife and husband. The welcome cocktail and appetizer will be served at buffet around the pool while the waiters on the tables will serve dinner.
